Legal Translations

While studying at Heidelberg University to become a translator, I chose law as my specialization. As a result of my training and more than forty years of professional experience, today I have in-depth legal knowledge and am intimately familiar with the terminology.

Since then, I have acquired extensive practical experience spanning more than four decades. Among other things, I work for law offices and notaries public. I have also done a large number of translations for the German Parliament (Bundestag) and various federal ministries and municipal governments around Germany.

As a court-sworn translator, I’m authorized to certify the translations I prepare for you and meet all of the prerequisites for translating documents for official, court and notarial purposes.

You can count on getting carefully and conscientiously prepared translations from German into English and vice versa, also certified.

How it works

You’re welcome to email or call me to discuss what you need translated. In order to quote you a price and let you know how quickly I can provide you with the translation, I need to see the document or documents. You’re welcome to visit me in my office or email me a PDF file or photograph; I’ll answer right away and explain the entire process in detail.

I can translate into British or American English as required or wished.

You receive the finished and certified translation on paper (which you can pick up if wished, otherwise I mail it to you) and also as a scan in the form of a PDF file. In urgent cases I can also personally deliver it (within Frankfurt). In order to meet very strict confidentiality requirements, I can also go to you with my laptop and do the translation on site (and delete that copy after delivery if wished).
