Editing & Proofreading

Error-free English is very important – for example, for publications, on websites, in advertisements and in many other kinds of texts. If it’s worthwhile to write something, it’s also worthwhile to do it well and correctly.

I make your English-language texts shine. I’ve taken online editing courses of the University of California in San Diego that excellently prepared me to do both digital proofreading and traditional editing using a pencil on paper.

It isn't just about correcting grammar and spelling but improving texts in every way so they are fit for purpose and make the best possible impression. It can be for publishing them as a book or in a magazine, or it can involve revising the language of awkwardly phrased contracts and other legal texts. 

There’s a difference between proofreading and editing. Proofreading only involves checking text for typing, spelling and grammatical errors. This usually goes fairly fast and also costs less.

Editing goes further, not only checking for typing, spelling and grammatical mistakes but also making sure that a text is up to speed in terms of style and readability. Especially when it’s a translation from German into English. In this case, the style is optimized and the source and target texts are compared to ensure that the translation completely and accurately renders the source text.
